PROJECT : Nigeria Sun Light Project

Secondary students in Ikot Usen with the solar flash light.

This project is a collaboration between OW and Paths of Native Africa, a San Francisco non profit, thatbrings technology and education to rural Africa. Last summer OW went to Nigeria to visit the village of IkotUsen. OW brought some BoGo solar powered flash lights (www.bogolight.com) as presents for the familywe stayed with and to the local secondary school. OW decided that lack of a reliable clean source of lightsolar energy would benefit the village and students at the school. OW shot some video footage and photosfor a proposal to the solar flash light company. This summer 2008 OW will go to Ikot Usen, a small village in Nigeria, to launch a solar energy and economic program for students.
